Weak & woolly - Beagles get rum deal

The government responded – 18 June 2018

This Government encourages all scientific establishments that are licensed under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act (1986) to consider the re-homing of animals used in scientific research.

12,024 signatures 

So they respond with the fact they have given an advice note but without clear legislation, this means that the dogs basically are missing out. Its clear the petition wants more as it is not protecting the Beagles..

After the devastating news of a further severe stabbing of a brave Police Dog, Friday 6th July saw Finn’s Law pass through the 2nd reading at Westminster unanimously. Sir Oliver Heald’s Bill now moves on to the Committee stage.

The campaign to secure protection for our amazing animals has grown in strength and depth since the previous attempts at 2nd Reading. It is not uncommon for many Private Members Bills to fail at 2nd Reading stage. For Finn’s Law to go through 2nd Reading means that we are within touching distance of the statute books.

Nicola Skelley , Co-Director of Finn’s Law Ltd ,

said “We are extremely happy that #FinnsLaw has passed through the second reading, this has been a difficult hurdle and has caused many sleepless nights. We would like to say a huge thank you to Sir Oliver for believing in a dog called Finn and of course the many followers of Dave and Finn’s Law – #TeamFinn . Onwards to the next stage….. “

PC Dave Wardell added” What happened today at Parliament makes me very proud. Proud of Finn and all our service animals. What happened to Finn and PD Axle a few days ago, is not acceptable. Today we have made a significant step towards ensuring that those responsible for injuring these amazing animals will be held accountable.
It will also mean that the suffering Finn and Axle have endured will not be for nothing.”.

This is just bizarre!! weird, crazy stupid -  I spotted this petition on Change.org 

Painting Horses?  - the company doing this has now stopped 

WTF !!! What is the matter with people??  I Googled to see who was offering this bizarre and downright cruel service .. Horses are not canvas or paper they are real-life living things .. who in their right mind could possibly think they would enjoy being tied up with a bunch of kids and painted! what does this teach the kids! Certainly not respect --  just a gimmick.. I agree with PETA

Just a suggestion.. might sound a bit 'out there' how about.. Paper - Canvas - A blackboard' if the kids enjoy the therapy of touching a horse ( and the horse is happy) then stick to that! Horse painting is ludicrous..

I love animals.. can't help it..  so the focus right now is those that need our help ..

It just a petition .. it won't make a difference well it does!

Especially the parliament ones.. so come on get signing - do your bit protest and take action .. your sitting there reading this - get off the damn sofa and do something more constructive!

Why wouldn't you want to ban them.

If you are a breeder (someone who breeds for health and love the animal) you will want it banned - if you are  Greeder ( a person who breeds for money only )  then you won't.

So stop the Greeders you say?  yes, that's a good idea but how? this petition helps

Who are the biggest problem to pets ? you .. anyone of you who has decided they want a pet and just walked into a shop and bought one? Yes, YOU!  its wrong its bad for the animals if you are getting a pet whether it be a mouse or an elephant plan, organise and do your research! Just like you do when you buy a car. Yes, its a life.. it matters.. and if you don't agree then you should NOT be allowed to have one. There I have said it.

If we take more responsibility for our actions a lot of these bad get rich quick scumbags would not be able to do what they do.

Educate yourselves.. educate all those around you.. 

Do not assume people know the right way to do it.. talk to them  ..

CAGED -  have sited Michael Dunphy as selling 6 of his ex-breeding stock ! he obviously does not think much of them shipping them out to China to be bred from .. a country with a zero policy of animal welfare..

(Dog that failed drug test up for Bord award, Irish Independent, April 3rd, 2007) A top millionaire greyhound trainer has been fined more than €4,000 for possession of performance-enhancing drugs. Paul Hennessy, of Rathbaun, Garryduff, Gowran, Co Kilkenny, is one of Ireland's most successful trainers and earned €2.6m from the sport in the past six years. Yesterday, he pleaded guilty to seven sample counts of possession of unauthorised animal remedies at the District Court in Kilkenny. He had bought the drugs from an Australian internet site called Nature Vet. The substances were seized at the top trainer's premises in Gowran, when it was visited by a Special Investigation Unit of the Department of Agriculture on April 28, 2005. (Top greyhound trainer fined for drugs haul, Irish Independent, February 6 2007) Kilkenny-based Mr Hennessy was fined €1,000 by greyhound racing’s control board in November for running a dog, Barefoot Jenny, which had been given the banned substance EPO. The case was never publicised by the Irish Greyhound Board.
